Terrorist Intrusion Cannot Break The Spirit Of Sabah Youths

LAHAD DATU, April 4 2013 (Bernama) — The Malaysian Youth Council (MBM) believes the armed intrusion by terrorists in Sabah did not break the spirit of youths in the state to help in the 13th general election process.

MBM president Mohamed Maliki Mohamed Rapiee said, this included becoming observers at the general election.

“In Sabah, MBM was appointed as observer together with the Malaysian Historical Association (Sabah) and the Chinese Coalition Association.

“As local observers, we will carry out the trust placed on us. We have appointed 400 youths as observers including 58 from Sabah,” he told reporters after handing over aid to residents of Kampung Tanjung Labian, Felda Sahabat, here, Thursday.

Mohamed Maliki said, based on positive response received from local youth associations around the area of intrusion, he believed the youths in Sabah would turn out to vote and was confident of the level of security during the general election.

Meanwhile, he urged youths in Sabah to continue efforts to help village residents affected by the intrusion.
