Four Top Malaysian Youth Council Posts Won Uncontested

PETALING JAYA, Jan 20 2013 (Bernama) — Four top Malaysian Youth Council (MYC) posts – president, deputy president, secretary-general and honorary treasurer – have been won uncontested at its working committee election Sunday.

As expected, Penang Youth Council president Mohamed Maliki Mohamed Rapiee retained the presidency for the 2012-2014 term uncontested at the MYC 61st annual general meeting in Subang Jaya.

Three others were newcomers, namely Muammar Ghadafi Jamal of the 4B Malaysia Youth Movement (deputy president), Mohd Zaidi Aziz of the National Association of Malaysian Muslim Students (secretary-general), and N. Mahendran of the Malaysian Hindu Youth Council (honorary treasurer), said the MYC in a statement.

Khairul Anwar El Syazalli Musa (Perak Youth Council) was elected permanent chairman and K.Murali (Malaysian Hindu Youth Bell Clubs Council), deputy permanent chairman.

Meanwhile, the three vice-president posts were won by Low Eng Tack (the United Youth Movement of Malaysia), Manndzri Nasib (the Malaysian Felda Youth Council), and Nasrul Ahmad (the Melaka Youth Confederation Council).

The MYC said 12 of 22 candidates were elected working committee members and 370 delegates from 40 youth organisations cast their votes.
