KAZAN, RUSIA – Pada 26 – 30 Ogos lalu, Republik Tatarstan telah menjadi tuan rumah kepada Kazan Global Youth Summit 2025, sebuah sidang antarabangsa yang menghimpunkan ratusan pemimpin belia, penggubal dasar dan organisasi belia dari seluruh dunia.
Malaysia telah diwakili oleh Presiden Majlis Belia Malaysia (MBM), Sdr. Mohd Izzat Afifi Hj Abdul Hamid bersama Puan Azura Abidin, Ketua Pengarah Jabatan Belia dan Sukan Negara (JBSN) selaku delegasi rasmi negara.
Sepanjang penglibatan di Kazan, Presiden MBM telah :
1️⃣ Menjadi panelis utama dalam sesi bertajuk “Learning By Doing: How Youth Communities Shape Educational Ecosystems”, membentangkan amalan terbaik Malaysia khususnya melalui pelaksanaan Majlis Perundingan Belia Negara (MPBN) yang terbukti berperanan sebagai platform latihan kepimpinan, dialog dasar dan demokrasi partisipatif belia;
2️⃣ Memperbaharui Memorandum Persefahaman (MoU) bersama Academy of Youth Diplomacy Kazan, sebagai langkah memperkukuh kerjasama strategik dalam bidang diplomasi belia, pertukaran pengetahuan serta penganjuran program rentas negara;
3️⃣ Dianugerahkan pengiktirafan antarabangsa sebagai salah seorang Young Global Leaders melalui inisiatif bersama “School of Diplomacy”. Sejak 2024, MBM bersama Academy of Youth Diplomacy telah berjaya menggerakkan 7 buah sekolah di Malaysia untuk turut serta dalam program kerjasama maya dan fizikal bersama belia di Kazan, sekali gus menandakan pencapaian penting dalam usaha merapatkan hubungan diplomasi belia global;
MBM merakamkan setinggi-tinggi penghargaan kepada pihak penganjur, Kerajaan Republik Tatarstan, Academy of Youth Diplomacy Kazan, serta semua rakan strategik yang telah memberi ruang dan pengiktirafan kepada Malaysia;
Kejayaan ini adalah bukti bahawa belia Malaysia mampu berdiri setara di pentas global, menyumbang idea, pengalaman dan kepimpinan bagi membina ekosistem belia antarabangsa yang lebih progresif.

MBM MAKES HISTORY IN KAZAN, RECOGNIZED AS AMONG THE YOUNG GLOBAL LEADERS
From 26–30 August, Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan, Russia hosted the Kazan Global Youth Summit 2025, an international gathering that brought together hundreds of youth leaders, policymakers, and youth organizations from across the globe.
Malaysia was proudly represented by Mr. Mohd Izzat Afifi Hj Abdul Hamid, President of the Malaysian Youth Council (MBM), accompanied by Ms. Azura Binti Abidin, Director-General of the National Youth and Sports Department (JBSN), as the official national delegation.
During the summit, the MBM President achieved several significant milestones :
1️⃣ Featured as a keynote panelist in the session “Learning By Doing: How Youth Communities Shape Educational Ecosystems”, where he presented Malaysia’s best practices through the implementation of the National Youth Consultative Council (MPBN) — a platform proven to nurture leadership, facilitate policy dialogue, and foster participatory democracy among youth.
2️⃣ Renewed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Academy of Youth Diplomacy Kazan, further strengthening strategic cooperation in youth diplomacy, knowledge exchange, and cross-border youth initiatives.
3️⃣ Received international recognition as one of the Young Global Leaders under the joint initiative “School of Diplomacy”. Since 2024, MBM and the Academy of Youth Diplomacy have successfully engaged seven schools in Malaysia, connecting them with youth in Kazan through both virtual and in-person exchanges — a landmark achievement in advancing global youth diplomacy.
