KUALA LUMPUR, April 4 (Bernama) — As of April 1, almost 5,000 youths between 18-30 years of age have registered for the ASEAN Special Quiz 2015 and their numbers are set to rise further by the time the entry closes on April 15, 2015.
With the questions testing one’s general knowledge on the 10-member regional grouping, its activities and future direction and those who successfully answer them in the preliminary round on April 25 will proceed to the semi-finals.
According to Lim Ann Teck, the Information Department’s Director for the International Relations Division, those keen could register at www.penerangan.gov.my or daftarasean2015.penerangan.gov.my before the deadline.
This quiz organised in conjunction with the Malaysian Youth Council is not only meant to enhance one’s knowledge and understanding but also to enhance the support and participation of the youths in the ASEAN related activities organised by the government.
During the preliminary round held simultaneously throughout the nation, contestants are required to answer the questions through their PCs, notebook computers or smartphones.
The semi-finals will be held on May 20 in Putrajaya and the contest format involves public speaking with the title given beforehand.
The finals on May 22 will utilise the same format with the contestants allowed to use slides and pictures to help in their presentation.
